Developing the skills of staff is a crucial element in running successful organisations. It is becoming increasingly important for Social Economy organisations - in a new funding environment, with increasing competition for resources, and a move for organisations to perform with a more business like approach.

Glasgow North Regeneration Agency is delivering a programme called Essential Skills for the Social Economy. The purpose of the programme is to:

  • help organisations to develop their policies & procedures for supporting staff training & development
  • provide free, high quality training to local social economy (not-for-profit) organisations - tailored to the specific needs of your organisation

The training on offer will depend on needs identified, but will look to include the likes of:

  • managing people
  • accessing funding & project managing
  • employment legislation
  • ICT skills & Customer care
  • Book-keeping & financial management
  • Marketing your organisation

The programme has been funded by European Social Fund Objective 3, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, & North Glasgow Social Inclusion Partnership
