How We Are Helping To Improve The Environment In The North Of The City?

GNRA have formulated a number of policies and programmes to improve the physical environment in the North area, with a main focus on property, and improving and developing vacant land.

Promoting the image of the area is also a key goal for GNRA, and these objectives come together in GNRA's Property Development Programme.

What Specific Policies Are Being Implemented?

GNRA is involved a number of environmental improvement initiatives including:

  • The design, development and implementation of projects and programmes that contribute to the physical and economic regeneration of the North area
  • Securing partnerships with public, private and community interests
  • Obtaining funding
  • Managing initiatives to ensure timely implementation and early impact

What Results Are Being Achieved?

GNRA reports the following positive impacts:

  • over 50 local employers provided with property assistance
  • 11 projects to improve property provision and local amenity
  • Take up of over 150,000 sq. feet of vacant premises and under utilised land
  • Attracted £0.7m private and public sector property investments
