Social Economy

Helping Social Economy Organisations
Glasgow North Regeneration Agency has a team dedicated to the development of the locally-based Social Economy.
What is the Social Economy?
The Social Economy can loosely be defined as organisations that are not-for-profit – sometimes also referred to as the Voluntary or the Community Sector.
The following are some of the many examples of what Social Economy organisations might be:
- Not-for-profit community businesses such as transport or recycling
- Out of School Care projects
- Local Advice Centres
- Youth Projects
- Local projects catering for the needs of children, the disabled or elderly
Glasgow North Regeneration Agency’s role is to provide support and assistance to such organisations in order to help them become more sustainable and grow.
The more effective these organisations can become, the greater the contribution they can make in their communities – providing essential jobs and services.
There are many ways in which we might be able to help your organisation.
