REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate

Information:
The Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate is a first level qualification in food hygiene and is nationally recognised in all sectors of the food industry. The Certificate is awarded to participants who have successfully completed the Elementary Food Hygiene Course and subsequent assessment. At this level hazard analysis, and the implementation of food safety systems based on HACCP principles is incorporated into the course content

Course Content :

  • An introduction to food hygiene
  • Bacteria and their characteristics
  • The incidence of food poisoning and its prevention
  • Personal hygiene and working habits of the food handler
  • The working environment
  • Cleaning practices
  • Common food pests and their control
  • Food safety legislation

Each delegate will receive the REHIS Food Hygiene handbook for using during the course and as a reference guide back at work
